Telugu actress Sumaya Reddy is making her debut as a heroine, producer, and writer with the film Dear Uma, releasing on April 18th. The film stars Prithvi Amber in the male lead role. Nagesh has worked as the line producer, and Nithin Reddy as the executive producer. The screenplay, dialogues, and direction are by Sai Rajesh Mahadev. Renowned cinematographer Raj Thota, known for his stunning visuals, has handled the camera work, and blockbuster music composer Radhan has composed the music. The pre-release event for the movie took place on Wednesday as part of its promotions. Speaking at the event, Sumaya Reddy said: “I feel very proud to represent Anantapur. From the moment we broke the coconut to the moment we broke the pumpkin, the media stood by us – thank you for your support. The media is the true chief guest of our event. Sai Rajesh garu has already conveyed everything I wanted to say. Telugu girls are finally stepping more into the industry. I’ve taken a bold step forward by producing this film, and I hope to receive everyone’s support. A short film I wrote and directed earlier was well received. Later, I worked again with Sai Rajesh garu on Dear Uma. Thanks to Madhu and Chakravarthy for standing by me. It’s because of Naveen garu that Radhan sir came on board. Everyone worked on this project like it was their dream project. Just like there’s a woman behind every man’s success, there’s also often a man behind a woman’s success – Nagesh has been with me since day one of this journey. If you don’t stand up for yourself, no one else will. I worked really hard to bring this project to life. Dear Uma is releasing in theatres on April 18th. Please watch and make it a success.” Executive producer Nithin Chandra Reddy said: “My sister Sumaya Reddy has made a meaningful film with Dear Uma. Films with such impactful messages are rare these days. I’m proud to be part of this project.” Line producer Nagesh commented: “Sumaya Reddy is a good friend of mine. She often spoke about her dreams and her story. She’s put her heart into this film. Dear Uma is releasing on April 18th. Everyone, please watch and support it.” Jyothi Reddy, Sumaya’s mother, shared emotionally: “My daughter Sumaya Reddy’s Dear Uma turned out beautifully. She’s my role model — a heroine, producer, and writer. She’s worked tirelessly for over ten years to reach this stage. She didn’t wait for opportunities, she created them. Please watch Dear Uma on April 18th.” Comedian Prudhvi said: “Sai Rajesh has crafted Dear Uma wonderfully. Sumaya Reddy’s story is genuinely impactful, and it has been portrayed even more powerfully. It reminds me of the film Ganesh by Venkatesh, which focused on the healthcare system. Dear Uma deals with a similar theme. It’s an awareness-driven film. Please watch and support it.”
