South Indian Actresses portrait Raja Ravi Varma’s painting in G Venket Ram’s Calendar 2020. G Venket Ram did this shoot for charitable trust called Naam. The Trust, started by actor and director Suhasini Maniratnam, empowers single women from underserved segments of society.
“We are trying to replicate the works of Ravi Varma’s painting. I had to see how to match them with the paintings and managed to a certain extent. “Says G Venket Ram. The calendar features 11 South Indian Actresses from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movie industry like Khushboo Sundar, Ramya Krishnan, Samantha Akkineni, Lissy Priyadarshan, Nadiya Moidu, Lakshmi Manchu, Shruti Haasan, Aishwarya Rajesh, Shobana, Priyadarshini Govind and Chamundeshwari.

All the jewellery had to be procured or specially created. Even the style in which the saries are drapped by the women are different in each painting. So the stying and costume department had quite a task on their hands.

the producer of this calendar Suhasini Hasan takes up all these signature projects for the various causes she supports. She did a fashion show of Ravi Varma models when there was a fundraiser for the flood victims in Chennai.
Now she has done this Ravi Varma Calendar for her own NGO NAAM Foundation in a wonderful collaboration with the ace photographer, her enigmatic actress friends & ONE OF THE NAAM LADIES featuring for one of the months. Yes! Isn’t that beautiful.
