Malayalam actress Shritha Sivadas has been roped in to play the romantic interest of comedy actor turned hero Santhanam in Dhillukku Dhuddu 2. The first part was a big hit and Rambhala who made the original version is directing the sequel.
After the box office failure of Sakka Podu Podu Raja last December, comedy star Santhanam is now busy with the sequel to his superhit horror comedy Dhillukku Dhuddu (2016). With the benchmark set by the first part, we can be sure the second would also be a perfect blend of humour and horror.
The female lead in the movie holds quite a lot of importance as the premise is based on her character. The team was scouting for a suitable heroine all along and have finally found one. An official announcement on the film’s heroine has been made now, and it will be a fresh face from Kerala, who’d be playing the leading lady. Earlier, Deepti Sati, was supposed to play the heroine, but now she has been replaced by Shritha Sivadas. Apart from Santhanam and Shritha, the film also stars a lot of known comedians, in the form of Motta Rajendran, ‘Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru’ fame Ramar, Urvashi, and Bipin of ‘Jil Jung Juk’ fame.
There are a plethora of other popular comedians in the sequel, like Motta Rajendran, Urvashi, Bipin (‘Jil Jung Juk’ fame), Ramar (‘Kalakapovathu Yaaru’ fame), Dhanasekar (‘Kalakapovathu Yaaru’ fame) and Ayyapa Baiju (a famous stand-up comedian from Kerala).
Rambala who wielded the megaphone for the first part returns as the director for the sequel.
Deepak Kumar Pathy is handling the cinematography for the film and Shabir is composing the music. Other than Dhillukku Dhuddu 2, Santhanam also has three films Server Sundaram, Mannavan Vanthanadi and Odi Odi Uzhaikanum which are stuck in various stages of production because of the financial issues of the producers.
The team has planned to release the film in the month of September.
