Directed by Ugandhar Muni, the film is produced by Mahidhar Reddy and Rajashekhar Annabhimoju under the Shining Pictures banner. Alongside Sundeep Kishan, the film features Catherine Tresa, Sakshi Mhadolkar and Gayatri Bharadwaj as the female leads.

Karikaala is being developed as an ambitious pan-Indian socio-fantasy adventure exploring mythology, folklore, magic and mysterious kingdoms. Director Ugandhar Muni, known for Shambhala, is bringing this imaginative story to the screen with large-scale production design and visual effects. Sricharan Pakala is composing the music.

During the launch ceremony, actor Aadi Saikumar directed the ceremonial first shot. Sakshi Mhadolkar expressed her excitement about joining the project, praising its imaginative world, music and adventurous storytelling.

The makers have announced a two-part theatrical release, with Karikaala Chapter 1 scheduled for July 2, 2027, followed by Chapter 2 on October 28, 2027.
