Rashmika Mandanna made a beautiful appearance at the grand pre-release event of her upcoming Telugu film Ranabaali. Held on October 13, 2026, at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, the event brought together the film team ahead of its much-awaited theatrical release on October 16. Rashmika, affectionately known as the National Crush, attracted attention with her graceful traditional outfit and heartfelt words about her husband and co-star Vijay Deverakonda.
For the Ranabaali pre-release event, Rashmika Mandanna chose an elegant ivory saree with a soft champagne-gold sheen, creating a beautiful blend of traditional charm and contemporary sophistication. The saree featured delicate golden embroidery, a finely embellished scalloped border and intricate floral detailing along the lower drape. The lightweight, flowing fabric added a luxurious finish to her ethnic ensemble.
The highlight of her outfit was the contrasting deep crimson-red, full-sleeved blouse, beautifully decorated with intricate gold floral and paisley embroidery across the shoulders, neckline and sleeves. The rich red-and-gold combination complemented the subtle ivory shade of the saree, giving the actress a regal and festive appearance.
Rashmika completed her traditional look with a delicate multi-layered choker necklace featuring pearl-like detailing and small green gemstone accents, matching stud earrings and elegant hand jewellery. Her hair was neatly styled in a sleek bun adorned with red flowers, adding a classic South Indian touch to her appearance. A tiny red bindi, beautifully defined eyes with dark eyeliner, softly highlighted cheeks and glossy rosy-nude lipstick completed her makeup. The overall styling was understated yet glamorous, making her appearance one of the memorable fashion highlights of the evening.
One of the most memorable moments of the Ranabaali pre-release event came when Rashmika Mandanna openly expressed her love and admiration for Vijay Deverakonda. Addressing him affectionately as Vijju, Rashmika revealed that even after their marriage, she still feels like a fangirl whenever she watches his performances.
The actress also shared interesting experiences from the Ranabaali shooting schedule. While her portions occasionally required only a few days on set, she witnessed the extraordinary dedication of director Rahul Sankrityan, Vijay Deverakonda and the entire production team. She admitted that Vijay's fierce transformation into the titular character, especially his intense expressions and powerful screen presence, had initially intimidated her.
Rashmika praised the commitment of the filmmakers and expressed confidence that Ranabaali would transport audiences into a completely different cinematic world.
During her speech, Rashmika revealed the emotional significance behind her character Jayamma in Ranabaali. Director Rahul Sankrityan had named the character after his mother, making the role especially meaningful to the actress.
Speaking about her reunion with Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika recalled their previous romantic films, Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Although Ranabaali is not primarily a romantic film, she promised that the love story between Ranabaali and Jayamma would be an important and memorable part of the narrative.
She also thanked Mythri Movie Makers for the opportunity and expressed her excitement about collaborating with the production house and Vijay on future projects.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is an ambitious Telugu period action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Set against the backdrop of British colonial rule in South India and the Madras Famine of 1876–78, the film explores oppression, resistance and the struggles of ordinary people.
Vijay Deverakonda portrays the title character Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo appears as the British antagonist Sir Theodore Hector. The director has described the story as an alternate-history fantasy inspired by historical events, rather than a strictly factual retelling.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film features music composed by Ajay–Atul and cinematography by Nirav Shah.
Ranabaali marks the third on-screen collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, following their successful films Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). It is also their first theatrical collaboration to release following their marriage in February 2026.
With its grand historical setting, intense action sequences and emotional storyline, Ranabaali is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026, during the Dussehra festive season.
