Priyanka Jawalkar Latest Hot Stills
Priyanka Jawalkar made a splashing entry into the showbiz world by playing the female lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the supernatural-comedy ‘Taxiwaala’. With positive reviews and good box-office numbers, the film proved to be a successful launch pad for the Maharashtrian in Tollywood. She managed to strike the right chord in the bubbly role of Anusha with her charming beauty and convincing emoting skills.
Despite looking fabulous in her debut film, the ravishing bombshell decided to shed out those extra kilos in the body. After months of rigorous workouts in the gym, she trimmed down her weight and acquired a curvaceous figure to perfection. Her transformation is jaw-dropping and she looks absolutely stunning in her latest snaps on Instagram. Cladded in a variety of appealing outfits, Priyanka’s alluring poses are giving sleepless nights to many. Looks like the sizzling diva is here to stay!
Speculations are rife that Priyanka Jawalkar has bagged the leading lady’s role opposite Akkineni Akhil in Bommarillu Bhasker’s next film produced by Geetha Arts. Reportedly, she is also essaying the female lead opposite Ravi Teja in ‘Disco Raja’. However, nothing is official yet.
Priyanka Jawalkar, though a Maharashtrian was born and brought up in Anantapur but has now made Hyderabad her home. She had developed interest acting very early. “I developed interest in acting when I saw Jeans. I was so mesmerised by Aishwarya Rai and her huge gowns that I went to my mom and asked her what I should be studying to become like her. I was around six years old, she was so smart she said that I should be a topper. I took her seriously and worked hard,” she laughs.
She was approached for roles in the films after she had uploaded a few of her photos on social media. Her mother was very keen that she finish her B.Tech, which she did. Immediately after that she got an offer to do two short films.
“Possessiveness and It is a girl Issue fetched lot of attention. I was working in an MNC and evening I would do a diploma in fashion designing at NIFT. I did that for a year and went to the USA to figure out what I should be doing for a career. There were too many things happening and I did not have a clarity. At 21I was in a dilemma about what to do and what is right in life. For everyone it is one direction but for me there were multiple directions. I did not have anyone in the films to guide me or give a suggestion. After my short films, people in the US started recognising me on the streets. I did not expect the extent of popularity a short film gives, so I decided I should give films a try. After a brief stint in the colleges in the US I returned and joined acting classes with Bikshus.”
After four months coaching in the acting school, she sent her photos to Geetha Arts and they told her it would help if she continues auditioning. After seeing her short film director Rahul Sankrityan who was making The End wanted to cast her but she wasn’t sure then. It is such an irony that Priyanka Jawalkar is making her debut in the feature film being made by him now. About the project and the movie industry, Priyanka says “For Taxiwala, I auditioned for three months. It took a long time may because there were too many people auditioning.”
Priyanka makes lot of sense when she says, “Parents keep pushing us towards studies so much that one is always thinking of downloading aptitude tests and solve some problems. But I felt I was being too involved in the industry. It is totally different field now. I never wanted to be a model or be in the media. Though I wanted to be an actress very early in life I never tend to be in the zone where I concentrate on how fat or thin I look. Sometimes I feel it is unnecessary.” She adds that there is a positive side to the industry, but for the industry she wouldn’t have woken up early and gone to the gym. It is teaching her everything and she is grooming herself slowly.
She adds, “I want to tell wannabe actors that don’t take advise from people outside the industry regarding career or people in the industry. They will have half knowledge and create a phobia. ‘Don’t get into films, find a job… it is safe,’ is something you constantly hear. If you want to get into an IIT will you consult a person already studying there or someone who is not into it yet? People who are in the industry give you a positive vibe and the industry people are broad minded.”
Priyanka admits she has now realised acting is a tough job. She shares that acting classes helped her in opening up in front of the crowd.
“Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul were encouraging, which helped me in overcoming my inhibitions. Vijay helped me with my expressions. Rahul never loses his temper but gets his work done patiently. The whole journey was exciting because it is all new to me, says Priyanka.
Has she signed her second film? “Not yet.If this film does well, chances are I might get a better story. Right now I am spending time on dance. I am planning to learn classical dance because it adds grace to the body.”
