Nandita Swetha stills at Hidimba Movie Interview

Nandita Shweta is playing the heroine in action thriller movie Hidimba. Nandita Shweta shared the features of the film in a press conference in view of the release of the film on July 20, 2023.

How did you get into the ‘Hidimba’ project? What attracted you to it?
Director Anil’s story was very interesting. So far I have done few thrillers. But this is very different. He will be seen in the role of a policeman. So far I have played a police role in a Tamil film. To play a police role, one must have fitness. When I put on the uniform for the first time, I was hesitant and shy about how I would look. But when the ‘Hidimba’ look was tested, there was full confidence. Hidimba is a very unique and different thriller. In this, I am a very strong character who is equal to the hero. A very serious character who is natural. There is a very positive vibe about the movie. There is a similar vibe when the movie ‘Ekkardi Potavu Chinnawada’ was made. There is a belief that Hidimba will be a super hit just like Kadiri Patavu Chinnavaada.

What kind of exercises did you do for this role?
It is a challenging role both mentally and physically. In fact, mine is a smiley face, in which you will not see such an expression anywhere. I am senior to the hero in this. My role is commanding. The department follows my orders. When doing such a strong role, one should be very careful in body language and dialogues. Also the director wrote some dialogues about the IPC sections. Keeping all these in mind, it was challenging to play that role. But with the suggestions of director Anil, it became easy to do this role. I did special work outs for this film.

Looking at Hidimba’s trailer, the characters and setting are new. How is the daily impact?
Hidimba is very quality in terms of film making. We shot in many different locations. The producers have built without compromising anywhere. I was very impressed with the work done by director Anil for this film. ‘Hidimba’ is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Audiences will definitely enjoy this movie in theaters.

The reason for naming this film as Hidimba?
This is suspense. Not to reveal too much about it. After watching the movie you will understand why the name Hidimba was given.

How was it working with Ashwin?
Ashwin works very hard. You saw that difficulty in the trailer. There are many combination scenes between us. Good experience working with him.

Will there be a sequel to Hidimba?
It should be said by the director. I also hid the uniform. (Laughs)

Do you have dream roles?
Or not. I never thought that I would come into the film industry and do so many roles. I didn’t think or expect anything special to do such roles. In this journey, I focused on how much justice I could do to the role that came to me. There is a belief that stardom will come with ‘Hidimba’.

About the films currently being made?
I am doing Ajay Bhupathigari’s ‘Mangalavaram’. I am also doing three films in Tamil and two more films in Telugu.
