Krithi Shetty with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and leading filmmaker Venkat Prabhu’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual project ‘Custody’ is one of the most awaited movies. This movie is being made with huge production values and technical standards under the banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen. Pawan Kumar is presenting this prestigious project while Srinivasa Chitturi is producing it. The already released teaser trailer got tremendous response. Heroine Kriti Shetty shared the features of the film in a press conference in the background of the release of the film on May 12.
What is the interesting aspect of the custody story?
In almost all movies, the hero tries to kill the villain. But in custody, the hero tries to save the villain. It is very interesting.
My role in the custody story is very important. My character balances the story when it gets serious. My character travels with the screenplay. A character that has scope for acting. My role is also long. Usually we practice dance for movies, I practiced gymnastics for custody. It is an action entertainer. I told Venkat Prabhugari that I will get a call from Marvel Studios after this film (laughs). My character has good emotion.
We heard that the underwater sequence will be interesting?
Yes, we did it while enjoying a lot. We did that sequence for about 15 days. We are continuously in the water for five days. We took two days of training for that. A shot is possible only after two minutes without breathing. At one stage I was scared.
How was it working with Naga Chaitanya?
Naga Chaitanya is not only my favorite actor but also a person. He is very honest. The characters in this story should be very comfortable. As I am comfortable with off screen chai, on screen also worked out well.
Tell us about the custody shooting experiences?
Venkat Prabhu said that I am like a rowdy in the custody sets (laughing). Personally, I am a little rowdy. (Laughs) Anything depends on the comfort others give me. I am working with Chaitu again so that comfort is there. Also, it is a good feeling to work with such a nice team like Arvind Swamy, Sarath Kumar, Sampath, Vennela Kishore.
Venkat Prabhu is very friendly. Very caring. Very sweet person.
Aren’t some films disappointing.. How do you see failure?
No one knows the recipe for success. (Laughs) We will try our best. Challenges are part of the journey. But when there is a failure, I analyze it and make sure that such things do not happen again.
Trying to make lady oriented films?
Not at the moment. If there is a good story in the future, I will think about it.
Any ideas towards Bollywood?
Every language should have a good debut film. Debut film is very important. Waiting for such a good story.
Any thoughts on directing?
I want to direct. But not just yet. I will look into everything. There are still many things to learn.
New projects?
I am doing a film with Sharwanand. I am doing a Malayalam film. Some more projects will be announced by the makers.
