Keerthy Suresh Stills at Mahanati Movie Success Press Meet. Keerthy attended the event wearing a peach gota patti embroidered floor length gown by Mishru. Statement earrings by Aquamarine, smokey eyes and side swept curls completed her look!The biopic on yesteryear actress Savitri, Mahanati, has turned out to be a huge success and has made the makers a happy group. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Mahanati had young actor Keerthy Suresh in the titular role while Dulquer Salmaan played Gemini Ganesan. Mahanati has clocked more than $2 million in the US while in India, it has earned more than Rs.40 crores. Mahanati has entered the third week now and is still going strong overseas and in India as well with good numbers being clocked at the box office. The makers today met in Hyderabad and interacted with the media to celebrate the success of the film. Lead actor Keerthy Suresh, Vijay Deverakonda, director Nag Ashwin, writer Sia Madhav Burra, production designer Shivam Rao and producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt were present at the meet interacting with the media. Speaking at the meet, Keerthy Suresh said, “I’m grateful to director Nagi and producers Swapna and Priyanka for this lovely opportunity. I would like to thank the media as well for supporting us throughout. We have worked really very hard and it’s a happy feeling to see the results being so positive.” Producer Swapna Dutt said, “Mahanati is into the third week and it is still going housefull. This really drives us and gives more power to do better films. I would like to thank all those who had very little screen-time but accepted to do the roles despite being very busy. And a big thanks to the media personnel.” Mahanati follows Savitri’s life, from her childhood as a minor dance drama performer in Guntur district to her massive stardom in Telugu and Tamil cinema, her marriage to and subsequent estrangement from the already-married star Gemini Ganesan, her alcoholism and ill-health, the financial troubles that led her to do a string of second-rate films and her 19-month long coma before she died at the age of 45.
