Even-though Kalyani Priyadarshan was born in a Malayalam family with movie background (Director Priyadarshan and Malayalam Actress Lissy), she started her movie carrier with a Telugu movie. She couldn’t refuse the offer from Akkineni family who was close to her. She debuted in Tollywood movie ‘Hello’ opposite Akhil Akkineni. Movie was produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni. Kalyani won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South and 7th South Indian International Movie Awards.
Later she acted in movie ‘Chitralahari’ and recently releasing movie ‘Ranarangam’ along with Sharwanand, Kajal Aggarwal. Kalyani admits that she is a fan of Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. She also adds that she loved watching Kill Bill. The fans are excited to watch her on the big screen opposite talented actor Sharwanand.
Now her father and Director Priyadarshan is launching her in Malayalam movie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham‘ in a guest appearance role. Marakkar is expected to be most expensive Malayalam movie ever produced. Starring prominent South Indian actress like Mohanlal, Suniel Shetty, Sudeep, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Keerthi Suresh etc.
After Kalyani wrapped up her shooting for the movie she said “Two years ago I never imagined I’d be working with dad like this. From him shouting ‘ammu you’re not doing it right!’ when I was nervous on the first day to him shaking my hand saying ‘Superb. I don’t want to make a single cut in that shot’… I weirdly cherish everything. Love you acha. Can’t wait for the world to see your magnum opus. Glad I got to be a small part of it.”
Kalyani Priyadarshan is pairing with Pranav Mohanlal. Pranav is portraying the role of childhood character of Mohanlal. The love song between Kalyani and Pranav was shoot at Hyderabad. The romantic pair is expected to be a hit in Malayalam Flim industry as they are rumoured to be in a relationship.
Kalyani is also making debut in Tamil opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Vaan
