Iswarya Menon stills in crop top and long skirt at her upcoming Telugu movie Spy Interview.
Set to hit the cinemas on June 29, the Nikhil Siddhartha-starrer has Iswarya Menon in the role of a RAW agent. Iswarya expects that ‘SPY 2’ will be there and hopes to be a part of the sequel as well. In this interview, the actress talks about training for the physically taxing role in ‘SPY’.
“I knew that director Garry BH is an accomplished editor. His narration was thrilling and I found my role both intense and exciting. My character has got a lot of shades in ‘SPY’. I am in love, I am killing people, I am rolling on snow, I am doing stunts. The challenging role made me nervous at times. I have realized that doing an action-heavy role is as exciting as doing a romantic role.”
How did you get into the spy project?
This is my first Telugu movie. A dream debut indeed. Director Gary BH thought of me as the heroine when he signed this film. He came directly and told the story. I was very thrilled to hear the story. I have a very intense role in this. I signed without a second thought. Spy .. Exciting Action Thriller. Everyone likes it.
Is your role action oriented?
There are many aspects to my role in this. Action and stunts are all there. We have taken all precautions to appear as a raw agent. I took training in action and gun shooting for about six months. It is indeed a very exciting journey.
I learned a lot about ‘Ra’ while doing this role. They serve the country without expecting any recognition. Also this movie gave me a lot of faith in action. I am confident that I will do action roles with confidence. There is a scope to do part 2 of Spy. If that happens, I want to be the heroine in that too. (Laughs)
How was it working with Nikhil?
Nikhil is a brilliant actor. I have been watching his work since Happy Days. His selection of stories is very good. He is a very positive person. Very energetic.
Tell us about Spy Music?
Sricharan Pakala has composed the background music along with Tu Muje Khoon Dho and Vishal Chandrasekhar has composed two songs. Spy music is extraordinary.
What is the most challenging aspect of spy shooting?
I have not done action films till now. Appearing as a raw agent requires special care. Our movement, action, fight. It seemed challenging to ensure that the attitude was as natural as a raw agent. The trailer got a great response.
How was your film journey?
The journey so far has been very satisfying. I did engineering. I never thought I would be a heroine. In the beginning I did small ads. I came here one step at a time. This journey is very enjoyable.
What are your dream roles? Who is your favorite hero?
There are many dream roles. Alia Bhatt wants to play roles like Highway. I want to work with all heroes
