Bhagyashri Borse is embarking on her acting career in the film “Mr. Bachchan,” which stars Ravi Teja as the protagonist and is directed by Harish Shankar. Here are the excerpts from interview.

When did your interest in movies begin, and how did you land the role in ‘Mr. Bachchan’?
Although my family originally hails from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, we moved to Lagos, Nigeria, where I completed my schooling. I initially came to Mumbai to pursue a career in business management. During my studies, I received a lot of encouragement to try modeling and ended up doing several commercial ads. When I learned about the opportunity to audition for the lead role in “Mr. Bachchan,” I flew to Hyderabad for the auditions. Director Harish Shankar and the producers liked my performance, and after a successful look test with Ravi Teja, I secured the role.

Were you able to match Ravi Teja’s energy on set?
I always aim to put in my best effort and stay fully dedicated to any task I take on. Ravi Teja is renowned for his high energy, so I gave it my all to keep up with him.

Can you tell us more about your character in the movie?
My character’s name is Jikki, and she has a mix of Telugu and Marwadi heritage. The director has crafted her with a lot of care, emphasizing her beauty and charm. Jikki plays a crucial role in Bachchan’s life, and I believe the audience will enjoy seeing her antics on screen.

Is there a particular scene from ‘Mr. Bachchan’ that stands out for you?
There’s a challenging scene that takes place in a tape-recording shop, which I found particularly exceptional. After the scene, the director told me, ‘I am proud of you,’ and that’s a compliment I’ll cherish forever.

What was it like working with Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar?
Harish is a director with immense passion, and working with him was a joy. Both Harish and Ravi Teja have extensive experience in the film industry. Although I’m new, having only done a small role in the Bollywood film “Chandu Champion,” Ravi Teja Garu made sure I felt comfortable on set. They both taught me valuable lessons about acting, particularly the importance of respecting your craft, whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned professional.

You dubbed your voice in Telugu for this role. How did you handle that?
I suggested to the director that using my own voice for the Telugu dialogues would create a stronger connection with the audience. Initially, dubbing in Telugu was challenging, but with the guidance of the direction department and the team, I managed to complete it successfully. It only took me a week to finish the dubbing.

Your dance moves in the film are becoming quite popular. How do you feel about that?
I love dancing, so I’m thrilled that the dance sequences are receiving such a positive response. It feels like a dream come true.

People are starting to refer to you as the “new national crush.” How do you feel about that?
Thank you for the compliment! (laughs) I take it as a kind gesture and appreciate the love.
