National Award-winning actress Lijomol Jose carried herself with the quiet, grounded confidence that has made her one of Malayalam cinema’s most respected voices, arriving at the Unmadham trailer launch in a sage green linen saree that felt as real and unpretentious as the films she chooses. In an industry where trailer launches often call for embellishment and spectacle, Lijomol’s choice of a natural-fabric saree with a delicately embroidered blouse was a statement in itself — and a deeply personal one.

Sage Green Linen Saree with Maroon Border

Lijomol Jose chose a beautiful sage/dusty green linen saree — a fabric choice that speaks volumes about her personal aesthetic. Natural linen sarees, with their characteristic earthy texture and slightly raw, unpolished sheen, carry an authenticity and craftsmanship-first sensibility that is entirely consistent with the kind of cinema Lijomol Jose champions. The saree was finished with a thin, clean wine-maroon border piping running along the edges — a minimal contrasting detail that gave definition to the drape without introducing any additional colour complexity.

Floral Embroidered Elbow Sleeves Blouse — the Look’s Heart

The standout element of this look was the blouse: a matching sage green elbow-sleeve piece featuring exquisite delicate floral embroidery across the sleeves — small clusters of pink and red roses with gold accents and tiny leaf sprigs worked in what appears to be resham or zardozi thread, placed along the upper arm in a naturalistic spray pattern. The combination of the earthy sage green fabric and the romantically detailed pink-red-gold floral embroidery created a contrast that was quietly beautiful and deeply feminine — traditional in spirit, yet subtly contemporary in its restraint.

About Unmadham

“Unmadham” is a Malayalam psychological thriller directed by Kiran Das — one of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated editors — marking his feature directorial debut. The screenplay is written by Shahi Kabir, the National Film Award-winning writer behind acclaimed films like Nayattu and Joseph. The film stars Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose in the lead roles, and is presented by T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, with Mujeeb Majeed composing the music and Arjun Sethu handling cinematography. The title “Unmadham” is a Malayalam word meaning “frenzy” — perfectly capturing the film’s unsettling, escalating atmosphere. The story centres on a police constable whose already strained domestic life grows more precarious when he reopens a long-unsolved cold case with apparent supernatural undertones, his grip on reality slowly loosening as the investigation deepens. Kiran Das is a Kerala State Film Award winner for “Ishq” as an editor, and has cut some of the most celebrated films in recent Malayalam cinema, including Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Joji, Moothon, Romancham, Rorschach, Joseph, and Ela Veezha Poonchira. Speaking at the trailer launch, Lijomol Jose shared: “The title itself suggests a state where fear, confusion, and truth collide. The story draws you into the life of ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances. What I love most is how grounded and real the emotions feel, even when the situation spirals.” The official trailer was released on July 19, 2026, accompanied by the tagline “Every buried truth has a way of finding its voice,” and the film releases worldwide on July 31, 2026, as a Panorama Studios worldwide release.

About Lijomol Jose

Lijomol Jose is one of the most quietly powerful actresses working in South Indian cinema today. Her National Award-winning performance in Jai Bhim (2021) — playing the grief-stricken wife of a tribal man who dies in police custody — catapulted her to national attention and established her as a talent of rare depth and authenticity. She followed it with acclaim in Gargi, Ayalaan, and Officer On Duty — the latter a reunion with her Unmadham co-star Kunchacko Boban — and her Tamil language appearance in Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhu Udamai (2025). In Unmadham, she reunites with Boban and pairs with an acclaimed team of filmmaker-craftspeople for what promises to be one of her most complex roles yet.
